I worked at Southwest Research Institute full-time

    Pros

Southwest is a good company. They offer a lot of positions for PhD's. There are many benefits including company cafeteria and gym. They have good benefits and compensation. They offer plenty of training opportunities both within the company and are very flexible with employees who want to take classes or get advanced degrees. Management takes a personal interest in their employees.

    Cons

Satellite offices are left out of main office activities and benefits.
