I have been working at Spectrum Engineers full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I like the independence and flexibility the company allows. The ability to work from home when needed is great. I have heard numerous employees who have come from other firms comment on the flexibility here and how they don't feel like they're being micromanaged. The company holds education and credentials in high regard, which means you're surrounded by other smart, motivated hard-working people. Everyone pulls their weight. So even if feel like you're putting in extra work/effort, your team is too.

    Cons

The work is fast-paced and deadline-driven, which means you'll [at least occasionally] be working extra hours (nights, weekends) to get the work done even if you manage your time well during the week. This is sort of a trade-off for the flexibility. This may not necessarily be a con for some, but it's definitely not a job you can leave every day at 5 and never take work home with you. Workflow ebbs and flows and the busy times get a little crazy and it can be challenging to find a good balance between work and family life at times. Health insurance options are pretty expensive for family coverage, compared to other companies. However, the company does compensate well.

I have been working at Spectrum Engineers full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The work environment is extremely casual which allows for a lot of flexibility in schedule. Everyone is great to work with and gets along really well. They also really seem to care about their employees.

    Cons

The company operates as a sort of umbrella company for many different little companies. As such, each person is, in essence, a company on their own. This leads to everyone kind of doing things their own way and not much of a consistent protocol. That can make things difficult when coordinating with other teams.
