- Fun work culture, nights out, trips, etc.

Advice to Management

Ensure that you are hiring the right people. This is not a job for the weak or unmotivated. Money motivated people will thrive here if you can find them

I worked at Spencer Ogden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Of course there's the opportunity for a few to do very well but as ever whilst hard work is definitely required,so is the lottery of being in the right market at the right time. Offices are certainly fun environments and you'll have a good laugh here and there.

    Cons

Regular recruitment stuff. Overt macho BS, a lot of management who won the recruitment lottery in a different time and place, who now act like theyre the Beatles but don't ACTUALLY help the under trained young grads - hence the massive and well known issues with retention/staff turnover.

    Advice to Management

Doesn't matter, they don't want to know. Just continue to throw enough money and human pain and suffering at the situation and eventually someone will come along and buy the company...so long as they don't take too close a look at the database which, unless it has changed, is mostly unuseable as it's full of false/duplicated data that grads add just to avoid being beasted for not having added enough contacts to the system

I have been working at Spencer Ogden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The managers are good at encouraging and helping us when times are tough. They also have really good advice when it comes to managing clients.

The office is a fun place to be, the environment is fun and my colleagues are friendly.

SO HK is quite open with communication between manager and staff, it helps when struggling with clients and candidate.

    Cons

I wrote this review after reading some other negative and biased reviews on here recently. Honestly I have always felt like I have had support and guidance. True, I experience some negativity in the office, but it came from a select few colleagues who were always unhappy and negative, and expressed their frustrations constantly. Working around them was draining.

    Advice to Management

SO HK has a strong team but you need to hire the people with the right motivations - and positive mindset - for the good of the company as a whole.
