I worked at Sprint full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Competitive pay. Excellent benefits from day one. Company is working very hard to move in the right direction.
Cellular plans are very competitive with AT&T and Verizon, especially if you are in an LTE area.
At least in my location, the management was superb and honestly should be doing better things with their lives.

Cons

Worked for Sprint before the Softbank deal was finalized and before Nextel was completely decommissioned. At the time, Sprint was extremely cash strapped. Unable to meet LTE rollout forecasts. Service in my area was poor. 3G speeds are atrocious.

Advice to Management

Retail management was great. Keep doing what you're doing. For senior management, some of these stores are former third-party stores (like mine), please renovate them or move to another location.

I worked at Sprint full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free phone service, telecommuting, supportive direct line management(my own experience), good salary in relation to marketplace, inclusive and diverse employee base

    Cons

mired in financial analysis, 90% of training is online and much of it is outdated, silent resistance to ideas and revolutionary ideas, often plays defense with product offerings

    Advice to Management

Play offense once in a while, cut products and services that add little to no value to portfolio, stop trying to compete directly with T and VZ on everything you do, invest in R&D and put money into improving your network

    I worked at Sprint full-time

    Pros

Decent benefits, discounts on phone/internet. Can learn a lot about wireless technology in a short amount of time with the company training provided

    Cons

Under qualified management, low pay, office politics favored over job performance. Management is aggressive and use more of an intimidation style of leadership rather that collaborative. The company has 3 different networks under their umbrella which cause a lot of confusion for customers with technology and switching between different phones.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to employees' needs to perform job effectively. Pay more attention to keeping the talent from walking out the door than personal feelings and petty office politics.
