Pros

Pay, benifits, facilities, training, safety. It is a wonderful place to work.

Cons

Supervisors are disoganized and have special employee favorites. Different rules for special employees. They treat the staff as if they were children and they will have the last word no matter what. Very imature supervisors.

Advice to Management

The employees are constantly running scared and are always in fear of loding thier jobs. It is not a pleasant atmosphere to work under. There is no regaurd for the feelings of the employee. To much gossuping and secrets. It is kind of like high school.

    Pros

The nursing staff's skills are frequently tested. You will learn to think on your feet or run off screaming into the night. After working at St. Joe's Paterson ED you will be able to work anywhere. Management is fair. Supportive co-workers. Job security. Competitive pay.

    Cons

Hectic and sometimes dangerously short staffed. But I think this is typical in any hospital setting but more serious in this case since a lot of the patient are critically ill.

    Advice to Management

Let your staff know when they are doing a good job. Allow them to feel supported and safe at work.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Lots of professional staff who I enjoyed working with.

    Cons

Horrendous management decisions and dismal pay rates. 90% of the people in my department were incompetent, couldn't read/speak English properly, or both.

    Advice to Management

Bring in professional outside help to assist management team.
