No opinion of CEO

Pros

Teaching, not-for-profit hospital, CEO is a nurse, team-orientated, deals with high-risk, impoverished patients, great learning opportunities

Cons

Pay is less competitive than other hospitals such as Mayo and Scottsdale Healthcare. Yet, if you do not need any benefits and have more than 2 yrs of experience the pay is great.

Advice to Management

Make staff nurses more involved in decision making with management. Afterall, they are your best resources about what occurs and need improvement at the beside. Will create a motivated team and improved environment.

I worked at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, modern equipment, high quality supplies

    Cons

Buying cheaper supplies, terrible direct leadership and management

    Advice to Management

Consolidate directors - a bloated administration serves little purpose. Stop hiring and supporting incompetent, sarcastic, inexperienced managers that use nursing units as stepping stones.
