I worked at St. Lucie Medical Center (More than 8 years)

Pros

Only pro is opportunity to work with patients.

Cons

Inadequate Staffing, poor management, and lack of care for patients. A disgrace to healthcare facility.

Advice to Management

Remember the reason this facility exists, to provide "healthcare" to "patients" in need.

    Pros

Family-style atmosphere. Great retention of employees. Many have been there 20+ years. Plenty of opportunities for learning and advancement. Management is very approachable, even up to the CNO.

    Cons

Benefits could be better. Insurance isn't the greatest. Low match for 401k. Certain units are understaffed. Not enough environmental service help. Cafeteria could be better.

    Advice to Management

Maybe listen more to what employees have to say. Have anonymous suggestion boxes available. Slightly higher pay would help with retention and prevent losing staff to hospitals further south that pay higher.
