Pros
Stanford has a great mission in its research and teaching. It's is very friendly to those who use public transit. It's is a beautiful place to work, though many non-academic jobs are being shifted off campus.
Cons
Each work group is very different, so employee experiences vary widely. Some depend upon external funding and the success of the group in securing and maintaining such funding.
