Never required more than 20 hours per week

Cons

Sometimes need to juggle between classes/finals

Advice to Management

Allow flexible working hours so one can work more before the finals and less during finals

    Pros

    Near European quality of health and retirement benefits

    Great choice of health insurances, from Kaiser to Blue Shield.
    Retirement managers TIAA/CREF brought me through the 2008/2009 debacle, but if you want to risk more, they also have Fi9delity

    Cons

    I did not find anything beyond petty grievances, you can make up about any emp-loyer.

    Advice to Management

    Do not try to control everything and everybody, including access to the swimming pools.
    The TSA mentality has crept up in Stanford.
    Disgusting.

    Very busy PIs. PhD in biological sciences can be lengthy.
