I worked at Stanford University as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Pay is good, you submit your hours, and the job is easy.

Cons

Office politics and bureaucracy. High turnover of contracted/temporary employees.

Advice to Management

Your departments have grown too big and politics have compromised the amount of honest workflow. There's nothing you can do because everyone there is a lifer protecting their retirement.

    Pros

great teachers to get to know and it's really fun teaching the classes you've already taken.

    Cons

not a lot of cons to share... i really enjoy it. it's the best opportunity you could ask for. just try and plan in advance and line up a job the quarter leading into it because sometimes they can be difficult to secure in short notice.
