Pros

Staples can be great for learning new things about technology, and perhaps moving up in the company.

Cons

They want you to SELL SELL SELL, even if you're a cashier or a stock person. No employee discount and the managers can sometimes be shady because they're forced to meet goals.

Advice to Management

Employee discount, come on.

I have been working at Staples full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of nice people, many not motivated to do more than the basics though. The bar is super low so you can come in and really succeed putting in minimal effort if you are into making a name for yourself and then leaving.

    Cons

Either inexperienced young marketing people on the business side (specifially Ecommerce)who think they have all the answers or an older crowd who is experienced , but many who are not motivated to do anything more than the basics. There is a smaller group of knowledgeable, driven folks, but they will not stay long. Why stick with a failing company when you can go elsewhere?

    Advice to Management

Stop adding contractor after contrator , hire americans guys. The business side needs to also start respecting those servicing the company and look at the other groups really as partners, not as servants. Make the place more fun and target the star players , not the subs. If treated better, we would stay and work harder! Also , say what you mean, mean what you say. Enough of the silly finger pointing when something small goes wrong. Progressive over what???

I worked at Staples part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good management, good coworkers

    Cons

Raise only if you change your job description

    Advice to Management

Higher management doesn't really care for small employees , at least a "Hello, how are you!" would be nice
