Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Staples full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Within the store, great team support. Pay and Benefits not neglected through hard times.

Cons

-spoken to like a child. Weekly being told good job and horrible job. Confusing direction. Not proud of the actual relationship that stores have with customer service. Cheating allowed and ignored

Advice to Management

Mixed approaches makes goals hard to achieve. Look at how your people are really being treated

I have been working at Staples part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent pay rate for technicians
    - Good team to work with (in my store)
    - The management can work around my college schedule
    - I'm constantly offered promotions (although I can't take them due to my school schedule)

    Cons

    - Too much emphasis on protection plans
    - Completely unrealistic expectations
    - Extremely understaffed; sometimes there will be around 5-6 separate customers asking for help and only 1 person available to help them all
    - Long hours for technicians (sometimes we are unable to leave the store, because there is no one else in the store knowledgeable enough to help the customers coming in for tech, leading to 10+ hours occasionally)

    Advice to Management

Having a couple more employees to help out would increase customer satisfaction, which will bring us more money.
Give us at least a small commission for our sales. It's difficult to sell a $230 protection plan, and when we do, all we get is a pat on the back. It was nice when we got at least $3 for that sale, which is hardly anything compared to the effort required to make that sale.
