I have been working at Staples part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good work environment and competent company.

Cons

They typically provide a quality product but the warranty service cuts corners and service behind it could be increased tremendously.

Advice to Management

Allow managers more discretion at store level

    Pros

    - low pressure environment.
    - ability to move within the company
    - zero travel
    - flexible work schedules

    Cons

    - sub-par pay
    - bureaucratic environment.
    - few opportunities for job growth
    - few technical challenges
    - really bad benefits

    Advice to Management

    - Identify and get rid of the 'clicks' that have developed in the organization. Fire incompetent managers and make the organization more nimble by removing bureaucratic layers. Empower lower level employees to make their own decisions. Make benefits competitive with the rest of the industry.

    Ability to cross train in different departments
    Opportunity to learn about new trends and devices in technology

    Terrible pay
    I received a lot of calls on my days off to assist employees with Easytech repairs
    Corporate employees come to the store and expect to be worshiped

    Give more positive feedback to employees
    Create a better (sales) bonus program
    Bridge the gap between corporate and store employees
    Pay the quality employees what they deserve
