I worked at Staples full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good environment and customers. Work would've been easier if the new trainees were trained properly and not put on the front desks alone without a supervisor

    Cons

Lets you do all the work, Bad management and total disregard of new employees, Bad pay, High to near impossible expectations, Rude co-workers, Managers won't listen to suggestions

    Advice to Management

Supervise, care, and train new employees properly and professionally. New employees need supervisors to ensure productivity

I have been working at Staples full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice benefits for full timers and part timers as well
Scope of work suits my interests
    Keurig in the break room

    Cons

    Advancement is slow
Management expectations too high for an understaffed store

    Advice to Management

Management needs to hire more professional and properly trained (certified) staff for the technology department, and pay them well enough to be loyal and not seek opportunity at the competition. Technology services are a gold mine waiting to be tapped especially in my area, I believe we need to strive in only hiring keen individuals that are knowledgable enough to understand the scope of work involved in the service and sell it to client. We cannot afford people who don't fully understand the product or the service to be selling them. It is costing us in returned product/service and trust. Our customers should only consult professional technicians to recommend them their technology as well as the service in setting it up and making the experience from old to new seamless. That is how you will be able to generate respect and trust from your customers.
