No opinion of CEO

Pros

Stability, broad opportunities, international exposure, generally down to earth employees.

Cons

Rude and overly confident management (see arrogant), cheap facilities and benefits, slow to change and adapt, absolutely no career development.

Advice to Management

Staples leadership is constantly "managing up" - that is they seem most concerned with what their boss and bosses boss thinks of them, and not at all on actually working with their subordinates. A lot of CYA when something goes wrong and a lot less of how to make sure things improve.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Stability, good pay, decent work/life balance usually.

    Cons

Too many, ill-equipped, ill-experienced middle-managers who lack actual leadership skills.

    Advice to Management

Start hiring actual leaders or start empowering your experienced employees.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The amount of paid vacation and advancement opportunities were better than others. There were also good networking opportunities outside of the company.

    Cons

A lot of upper management does not know what is going on at the store level, and if they do they choose not to make changes.

    Advice to Management

I would advise upper management to pay attention to how their stores are run. Also, listen to employee questions and concerns.
