I have been working at Starbucks full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Starbucks is definitely a company one can feel proud to be associated with. The people are truly a top priority. The level of authenticity found at Starbucks is hard to come by in the corporate world.
From a professional standpoint, teams seem very "flat" (not hierarchical), and the company prioritizes mobility through different teams (on average, people spend 18 months or less in a particular role). The 30% discount isn't a bad perk either.

Cons

The #1 complaint by employees is the severe lack of parking (the waiting list for the on-site garage is currently estimated at 5 years). But if you carpool or utilize public transit/the Starbucks shuttle, this is not much of an issue.
It can be difficult for the firm to compete for talent in the Seattle metro area, given prominent names such as Amazon and Microsoft, who typically offer more generous compensation.

Advice to Management

Starbucks is definitely headed in the right direction as far as developing our own people, but there is still room for improvement in expanding our entry-level pipeline.
