I worked at Starbucks part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Medical, dental, and vision benefits for part time employees. Ability to pick up shifts at any store. Can switch shifts easily. Friendly environment. Funny stories on a daily basis. Helps build customer service and sales skills. Great for first job, room for growth, in between jobs. The corporate office TAKES CARE of all the employees and looks out for the benefit of the company. Quick investigation and response time. Will make moves to fire management if they feel it is appropriate.

Cons

Managers can be shady depending on where you work. Definitely a work place where gossip is standard. Gotta clean the bathrooms!

Advice to Management

None.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Can offer great opportunities.
    Fun place to work.
Great perks if you enjoy coffee.

    Cons

Work experience depends primarily on leadership of store and other employees within store. While this is the case with many jobs, it is magnified at an establishment like Starbucks.

    Advice to Management

Don't settle for management / employees that will get you out of a bind. Get the best, make working at Starbucks more attractive and worthwhile.

I have been working at Starbucks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have a great benefits package for even part-time employees. It includes stock options, medical, dental and a 401k plan. The baristas get tips, free drinks during work, a 30% discount off of all merchandise and drinks when off duty, and a free mark-out each week (a pound of coffee, tea, etc.).

    Cons

The starting wage is the same for an inexperienced 16 year old as it is for a person with a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience. They need to reevaluate their pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Base starting wages off of experience, not time of service with Starbucks.
