I have been working at Starbucks part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Discount
    -Free Coffee
    -Benefits

The overall store steam environment that makes this job worthwhile.

    Cons

Education means nothing when it comes to promotions. Having gaining an education and wanting to move up in retail operations, I was told that an additional two+ years of training would be necessary to manage a store. So the past 3 years working as a supervisor and ASM have been for nothing?

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. For DMs, stop hiring poor store managers.

I worked at Starbucks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free beverages during shifts, great discounts on merchandise, positive work environment, good benefits for all partners (salaried and non), great with barista scheduling availability, overall an easy job in every aspect and position.

    Cons

Salary positions are hard to come by, salaries are LOW, long hours, work/life balance is laughable, my district had mostly highway stores so they were all open 365, barista and management training is a joke, store management is micromanaged to death...

    Advice to Management

-Back off the store management a little! If you can't trust your management team to get the job done, then you have the wrong people working for you.
-Scheduling program is ridiculous- look into a new and more user friendly program, please.
    -Management training needs a facelift.
