I worked at Starbucks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

While I worked at the 'bucks (2007-2008), it was a great environment to learn about coffee, tea, and pastries as well as hone one's coffee pallet. The in house training was actually pretty amazing and I found the entire experience fairly rewarding. A great team atmosphere and as a Shift Supervisor, I got some great lower level managerial experience.

    Cons

I previously worked at a college bar and dealing with the overly intoxicated is pretty bad, but having someone scream at you (literally scream) because their cappuccino is too "wet" is absolutely unbelievably awful. Caffeine addicts might be the lowest form of humanity.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great training and do not sacrifice employee education for increases in revenue.
