I worked at Starbucks full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

The ability to move up in the company was achievable and the path was clear. Great benefits even for part time employees and a supportive work atmosphere.

Cons

Holding on to part time and entry level salary employees was difficult. Wages are to small for a metropolitan area.

I worked at Starbucks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

good coffee and pastries, comfortable environment for patrons. When doing certain tasks the day went quickly. It was a very easy job to learn.

    Cons

dealing with the frustrations of patrons, and what they brought to the counter, made it a stressful work environment. The hours were inconsistent, making planning a life difficult.

    Advice to Management

be more responsive to local needs

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free coffee and decent health insurance... That's all I have.

    Cons

A general lack of respect from the management team towards the baristas and shift supervisors, low pay for unrealistic expectations, no mentoring or "career and partner development", and a general lack of morale in the store level.

    Advice to Management

Refocus on rewarding your partners (even a thank you, once in a while would be nice) and work on building morale within your stores.
