I have been working at Starbucks part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great benefits, amazing perks, partners are so much fun to work with, the daily connections you get to make with regulars and new customers are truly can make your day!

Cons

Sometimes you get customers that have a sour mood which can negatively affect your mood, but overall don't let it get to you! Opening shifts at 4:30 am can also get really tiring.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits, bean stock, great partners and customers

    Cons

No life balance, on call 24/7, work 7 days a week to keep up with all the demands, DM's with no support to team or positive recognition for achievements. DM's who decide who is promoted in your location without taking SM input. Salary is not high enough for 24/7, 7 days per week

    Advice to Management

Before PR decides to support DM's on store manager performance, they should connect with the SM for their side. The company I started with 8 years ago was all about the customer. We don't need to advertise because of our legendary service or world class now. The language has changed and the expectations of SM's is all about the bottom line, shareholders and boards of directors our mission statement even changed to reflect this. Get back to basics (BOB'S), if it was not for all our partners in the stores none of you would have a job, support them, get out in the stores and work for a week
