I worked at Starbucks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of free coffee, health benefits, short term disability and much more at only 24 hrs a week (based on a rolling quarter), flexible hours, early shifts, picking up shifts at any location- even on vacation, really good music, starting salary higher than most, tips, mostly friendly people, nice store discount, really I loved everything about this job but needed a job after graduating college that was full time and paid a little more. I think the shift leaders and managers are a bit overworked for the pay so I would only recommend the Barista position....

    Cons

dealing with people before they have had their morning coffee.

    Advice to Management

    none

    Pros

Free coffee drinks, mark outs, some tips, a job, keeping busy

    Cons

no set schedule, managers are constantly looking for ways to save on labor, was promised more hours within a month or two of working there and instead hours have been cut, i've been sent home early on random days, when you're new--you do all the dirty work, i don't mind cleaning but there is NO reward for your work

    Advice to Management

give people who have been there awhile full-time positions with set schedules, it would give people incentive to stick around and they'd be happier and do a better job! give people who have been there for a few months training in other areas other than store support 24/7 and give them more than a pat on the back and telling them you appreciate them, because words only mean something when they are backed up. I work hard and am told how much I am appreciated all the time! But guess what it means absolutely NOTHING!
