I have been working at Starbucks part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Flexible hours, benefits, tips and good people.

Cons

Upward mobility is not as great as I would have imagined. My particular store had ineffective management.

Advice to Management

With all of the students that come through the lower ranks, you are missing a great opportunity to keep talent within the organization by not reaching out to them before they endeavor into other careers.

It's an upbeat atmosphere and it's more "prestigious" than working at some fast food restaurants.

    Cons

It can be highly stressful and the pay isn't that great.
