I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Working here, you get the stability of a large American corporation and all it's perks, but each location has it's own unique feel. I had the opportunity to open two new Starbucks and build the brand in a new area of town. Becoming a member of the business community there was something I'll always value. I started out as a barista and within 3 years was running my own location. There are so many learning opportunities, you never stop growing. You get to work with a fun team and become an expert at making the drinks.

Cons

The hours can be rough. It's great that they're flexible, but eventually you get to the stage in your life where working at 4am or every weekend makes it hard to manage family time. The high-paced environment can get pretty stressful. There are a lot of demanding customers.

Advice to Management

Be more flexible on the hours you demand managers work. The main reason I'd consider leaving Starbucks is if I could get a Monday-Friday job and be able to see my family on weekends.
