Pros

Good advancement opporunity and a company that seems to be moving in the right direction. Would definately work if there were more upward movement.

Cons

It is impossible to balance work and life. You work at starbucks and they pretty much own your life. You make good money but they own your schedule

Advice to Management

Offer more encourgement to those who bust their butts for you. More incentive bonuses for working hard would greatly improve morale.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    1. Friendly coworkers
    2. Easy job to learn over time
    3. Make good connections with customers

    Cons

    1. External managers
    2. Lack of promotion within some stores
    3. Early shifts 4 AM

    Advice to Management

There are some managers that are externally hired and believe that they know everything about Starbucks from the beginning. This is wrong because there have been too many times where the baristas at my store have given advice to the new managers about something that they're unaware of. They don't listen, and the whole store suffers. My advice would be to hire and promote more within the company than to hire outside people who have no idea what it's like to be a barista or take the time to understand their partners.
