Pros

Free 1 lb of coffee per week
Cash tips varied...normally made an extra $30.00 to $175.00 per week depending on how busy the store was.

Cons

You learn to hate coffee over time.
You also smell like coffee beans and spoiled milk after every 6 hour shift.

Advice to Management

Give more of the Starbucks praise cards and pins out to employees doing a good job. Granted the pins aren't that amazing, but it's nice to know that a Starbucks Manger notices the good customer service and work ethics being contributed by their employees on a normal basis.

    Pros

Very easy going place to work
Lots of attention is paid to keeping employees happy
    Opportunity to get bonuses
    Great partners to work with
    Build great relationships with customers
Free drinks 30 minutes before and after work
    Lots of opportunity for growth
Even though partners say the company is not what it used to be, it is still 10X better than the majority of jobs out there

    Cons

Rude customers (but you have those eerywhere)
Like all jobs, your work environment can depend greatly on your boss (I've been blessed to have a great one, but I know that is not the case with all)

    Advice to Management

Organization is key. Please communicate what you need, and stick to what you commit to. Some in senior management are excellent, while others are not

    Pros

Provides lots of opportunity to grow within the company and has lots of support for it's employees on hand. Definitely recommended for students taking a year off.

    Cons

You're in customer service and therefore must deal with customers. Some customers think that they're at your local McDonald's and expect cheap fast food/drinks.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to dire employees that are lazy, seconds chances are fine but after a while it's time to let them go since it lowers morale among other employees.
