Pros

Challenging work, work independently, good benefits

Cons

IT is inferior to similar companies of same size and revenue. Majority of managerial staff share small offices. Sr staff are AIG old timers, who are close minded. Extremely political. Big Egos.

Advice to Management

Be open minded and let AIG go. Stop behaving like a bunch of high school girls bashing each other.

    Pros

The company sticks to its core business, understands their products, and how their products fit their client's needs.

    Cons

The lack of an adequate financial/accounting reporting system doesn's allow the company to make quick and accurate decisions about their products.

I have been working at Starr Companies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large youth culture which Starr strives to support by encouraging and rewarding their study towards the ACII. Active encouragement of all employees CPD. A great balance of ethnic cultures and broad age ranges leads continuous evolution and ideas with market driven targets and cultural changes always leading the way forward. Starr also has a family culture that encourages employees to socialise together

    Cons

To shine in such a large company of strong personalities can sometimes be difficult and leave the quieter or more shy people behind, occasionally missing great and creative ideas. Some managers can sometimes be guilty of turning a blind eye to employee conflicts or personal problems. If someone resigns, bad managerial attitudes have a negative effect on the team as a whole

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to all your team members and not just those who shout the loudest. Be aware of personality changes and address conflicts and staff personal problems to create a positive and happy environment.
