I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

Pros

I was working for W hotel, one of Starwoods brands. I really loved working there. Hole atmosphere and warmth of all employees there was great. 401K, food was free and amazing, discounts on all Starwood properties, good benefits.

Cons

There is really not that much to say negative about the company.

    Pros

Starwood who own the Sheraton is a good organization.

    Cons

There is a 3 strike and you are out policy. You call out or late a total of three times and you are dismissed. So the staff comes to work sick, so they can be sent home. One staff member came to work with a gall stone, because he was afraid he would be written up for calling out sick.

    Advice to Management

Treat you greatest asset (employee) with more respect and humanity.

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working in the hotel industry provides access to many areas of learning as opposed to most organizations. Great travel perks and discounts.

    Cons

Can be a little difficult to advance if you are not open to relocating. Pay can be little if in non-management positions.

    Advice to Management

Create more programs to identify those that stand out and work to get them on a path to advance.
