I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Discounts on hotel stays. At smaller properties, it has a very family type atmosphere and you can get recognized for performance more often then larger properties. Working for a upper-tier full service hotel company.

    Cons

EC not really supportive. They do all they can Mon-Fri during their "banker hours" shifts but nowhere to be found on weekends when they are needed. Very political. Long hours, difficult guests, little recognition or support. Over the past several years, the Atlanta region has cut back on productivity so you will have less people doing more work for below-par compensation. Proof of that is look at any reviews of Starwood Hotels on-line and most complaints will be about long lines at the front desk or rooms not ready.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Six Sigma on property. They truly serve no purpose on operations. Especially if they have never worked at the property in rooms operations. Have EC more involved on weekends and holidays. They get paid twice as much as other managers and work the same amount of hours.
