I worked at State Farm full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

um...complementary coffee. This was the biggest waste of time ever.

    Cons

Many cons! I only lasted a month. Not enough training.,absent agent., cliche selling techniques. Very low pay! I worked there for 5 weeks and pulled down a whopping $950. If I told all the stories you wouldn't believe it. Very difficult to sell all the products that you have to sell. If you do sell a policy then the boss is asking why you didn't sell them another policy. I think any half way intelligent person knows you're not going to sell someone life insurance that drives a 1993 Plymouth Acclaim.

    Advice to Management

Do what you say you're going to do and train people. The person I worked for didn't know how to do the job very well so it made it hard to take his advice. Everyone in the business knows there are certain ways to quote people so the rates are reflected positively. You would think that would be important info to pass on! This seems to be the theme for many State Farm Agents. They aren't properly trained and it shows.
