I worked at State Farm full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I can't remember any. They whole experience was terrible.

    Cons

This company lied from the moment they made the offer to the moment I left. They relocated me and promised to help my husband find a job with the company. They didn't. I moved my family to the middle of nowhere for an opportunity at a career. Once they moved me and I was completely isolated, my boss made me work incredible hours while everyone else went home. I worked for one of the worst human beings I have ever known. She was cruel and almost destroyed me because I wouldn't make up numbers that weren't true. She was incompetent in addition to being extremely difficult. It was a hostile work environment. I was exploited and harassed. It was the worst experience of my life.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with dignity and respect.

I have been working at State Farm full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits, job stability, virtual work schedules available, ability to work from home, can wear jeans to work, short commute to work

    Cons

Lots of stress, lots of uncontrolled change, unrealistic dates, limited amount of movement within the company, too much process/overhead, bureaucracy/politics, too many middle managers, internal employees are basically coordinators while external staff perform all of the development work

    Advice to Management

It feels as though management no longer trusts its employees to do the right thing and to produce a quality product. Our current work environment is going downhill fast. Managers need to stop committing to unrealistic dates as this is driving high-performing employees into the ground and causing no work/life balance. A lot of good employees have already left, and I am sure many more will follow unless the work environment improves.
