I worked at State Farm full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Opportunity to advance and learn is good. Earning potential is good.

Cons

Don't be fooled..they are out to make money..that is their priority over all else. Nepotism is rampant.

Advice to Management

Investing in your people will keep them around longer.

    Pros

The company provides some leads and brand equity will typically get you to a quote.

    Cons

Five agents in town of 33,000 people. "Like a good neighbor State Farm is there".

    Advice to Management

Monitor new hires and provide constructive critiques as you observe areas needing improving. Particularly, in the life insurance sales assessments.

I have been working at State Farm full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

Constant changes that make no sense. Nepotism is so blatant. No work life balance. Workload is unreal. Management is too busy trying to get promoted that they don't speak up for what is right. Very little opportunity for growth.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and stop trying to model yourselves after competition that is beneath you. Model after successful companies that treat their employees like they are human. All change is not good.
