The company is so huge sometimes making small, common-sense changes is like turning the Titanic -- it takes a long time and a lot of pressure!

    Pros

With the right connections, you may actually have an opportunity to advance, otherwise, prepare to see opportunity after opportunity pass you by.

    Cons

There is no flexibility - no set schedule. Schedule is ever changing, be prepared to be told your every move, including when to go to the bathroom but you do get a full dirty five minute lunch. There will be no recognition for your efforts but plenty for minor errors that are irrelevant. You will be expected to work at all times, tasks between assigned tasks and answer calls like a one man band, except you won't receive recognition for such talented multitasking. Compensation? The privilege to work for such a prestigious company, of course. Oh, you were expecting monetary compensation from the #1 insurance carrier in the nation? Sorry to bust your bubble, but this company will soon be known as the modern day masters of cheap labor. Your education or experience will not make a difference. They say 'jump' you jump. It's a take it or leave it (because they hold the cards). Enter at own risk. You've been warned.

    Advice to Management

Become aware of your department and recognize talent. Do not disable, enable advancement. Ensure that leaders are knowledgeable and consistent so that confusion is not created within an already confused and ever changing department.
