I have been working at State Street full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work in SS can be very flexible because of the flex program. You get to customize your own working schedule as long as you have made enough hours weekly.

    Cons

Works can be overwhelmed sometimes because of the high turnover rate. You will need to pick up things really fast without much help provided.

    Advice to Management

Management should listen up more from the lower level employees so that they can improve better on the tasks arrangement. Some people in the department get away with tough task because they know how to shine the boss's shoes and pretend he's working extremely hard etc..

  2. "The people were good to work with, but work was very siloed"

I worked at State Street full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There were lots of good people working there who were always willing to help.

    Cons

Much of the IT organization was incredibly siloed. For example, the team that applied patches was in a different group entirely from the team that determined which patches needed to be applied which was different from the security team.

I've left since everything started outsourcing which I've heard has been quite problematic.
