I worked at State Street full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

State Street is a great place to start your career if you are interested in financial services. If you decide to go on to another employer later on, you can leverage your experience to land a position at a mutual fund or asset manager. If you decide to stay on, there are plenty of opportunities for advancement.

Besides career opportunities, the benefits outside the below market average salary are much better than the norm. The 401k plan and vacation days are particularly generous.

    Cons

While the benefits offered by State Street are very good, the custodian bank could raise its base salary amounts by 3000 or 5000 dollars a year to be more competitive.

  2. "Sweet, complacent people"

I worked at State Street as an intern

    Pros

Very nice people, eager to help

    Cons

Corporate culture is very complacent - processes run the place.
    Almost too conservative

    Advice to Management

Take some risks - you'll attract a younger crowd that can bring a dynamic to the company that it really needs.
