I worked at State Street as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Involved management, great feedback, and a good team atmosphere. The "flex" program is used quite often, allowing employees to work from home once a week, or adjust work hours.

    Cons

Pay tends to be less glamorous than typical "banking" salaries. The term "Vice President" is thrown around very loosely.

I have been working at State Street full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Relatively stable for those that choose to be employed long-term. Consistent - rather predictable.

    Cons

Plateau on promotions for top tier employees. Stagnant merit increases. Slow moving due to typical corporate rhetoric. Long term managers have become too comfortable.

    Advice to Management

Fix the culture or continue to lose good employees, it's a bank but it doesn't have to feel like the titanic.
