I worked at State Street as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

It's a good financial institution to get your foot in. The company is quite large and there are many good positions to be transferred to internally

Cons

Not challenging, mediocre pay, not much learning available, responsibilities are outsourced to India

Advice to Management

Treat employees as learners, not workers

I worked at State Street full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stability and good corporate resources. SSGA is an attractive division of State Street, and there is reputable economy of scale within this giant bank. Not the worst company to launch career but I could not envision fostering long career there (maybe it's just me?).

    Cons

Zero interest in true employee career development, uninspiring middle management, becoming a cog in the machine or just another number which equally speaks to the size of this bank, but also the disconnect between upper management and those who work there.
