I have been working at State Street full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Internal mobility and the opportunity to change jobs and/or advance
Flexible work arrangaements
More recently - pro has been the amount of change and willingness to look at things differently

Cons

Size of the organization makes it sometimes challenging to navigate what the career opportunities are

Advice to Management

Lots of change happening at State Street but also good progress with communicating and sharing infromation with the employee population. Although change can be confusing, it feels like an exciting time and my hope is that senior management stay focused on thinking creativley about their vision for the future state of the company.

I worked at State Street as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Diversified company, with many product lines, offers a variety of opportunities. Coworkers are competent and generally easy to get along with. A number of challenging projects, and scope of responsibilities.

    Cons

Compensation is below par and employees are constantly squeezed. More and more professional work is outsourced, limiting opportunities. Everyone is too busy to help, so you have to find your own way. Work requirements not well defined most of the times.

    Advice to Management

Put more emphasis on defining and developing career paths.

I have been working at State Street full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

can work from home occasionally, good work/life balance

    Cons

you cant live anywhere near their location because of industry low pay, results in long days traveling to and from work. so many entry level workers it seems very hard to be recognized and no chance of promotion or raise until 1+ year at minimum.

    Advice to Management

Incentivize workers and pay a more reasonable starting salary.
