I worked at State Street full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good place to learn the business. Management is flexible with regards to your personal life. Lots of different areas to move around and learn the business.

Cons

CEO only cares about lining his own pockets with more money. Outsourcing is just growing there more and more. Low pay. No loyalty.

Advice to Management

Stop outsourcing everything and care more about quality of work, as opposed to saving a buck. Pay more to retain talent. Show more loyalty to people.

I worked at State Street full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

great learning and enjoyed my job. Benefits were good and pay was pretty good.

    Cons

Always afraid of being laid off.
    Longevity means nothing.
    Obvious age discrimination.
    Good Ole' boy network.

    Advice to Management

Would be nice to work for a company that cares about their employees. Seems the most important issue is money. If everyone took a 10% cut on their bonuses, would they have to lay so many off. I know the lower employees would do it but I think upper management would complain. Come on Jay, reports are you got 15.5 million bonus this tear. Would 10% less put you in the poor house?
