I worked at State of Georgia Department of Human Resources full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Very flexible with scheduling. Interacts with many different types/classes of people.

Cons

Too much work for the amount of pay. Co-workers worse than clients. Co-workers way too gossipy and unprofessional.

Advice to Management

Provide better training once a new worker is on the actual job site and don't just rely on the computerized training that only captures the theory of the job.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at State of Georgia Department of Human Resources full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Accrued leave and paid holidays

    Cons

Low pay, low morale, administration that only cares about numbers and not about its employees. Workers keep being told to "do more with less" by managers and administrators who have no inkling of the programs that theyre in charge of or what its like to work a day in the lives of the people they're over. Being told there is no money to give raises yet the upper administration with six figure salaries have all received raises. Workers do the tasks of three positions and only get paid barely for one. Workers are getting double the volume of work with no relief in sight and ordered to produce miracles with little resources. To survive, workers have had to take out sub prime loans, resort to pawning goods, taking second and third jobs, or relying on family and charity just to make ends meet.

    Advice to Management

Better pay especially for 5+ veterans
    hire more people
