    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at State of Nebraska full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dedicated co-workers, stable environment, good work/life balance, get to work on big problems and see how things work, fairly big projects in terms of dollar amounts.

    Cons

Understaffed, average pay, cubicles not offices, inertia to investigate or adopt new technologies, mild government bureaucracy, retirement choices could be a little better since the pay doesn't match private industry.

    Advice to Management

Make smokers and unhealthy people pay more for their health care. Provide either more matching funds or raise the cap on 401K contributions. Yearly cost of living raises aren't enough to match inflation rate.
