Pros
Employment with the state of Nevada is stable. I have not seen any layoffs since 2007.
Cons
There are a lot of state employees who don't do their fair share of work since it's nearly impossible to get fired. This is a major con if you are a hard worker, as you will end up doing all the work why your coworkers do nothing, and you'll get paid the same. There is no incentive to do a good job, or rewards for those who do a good job. New governor who was recently elected came in and completely did away with remote work. So people who were previously told their positions were permanent work from home positions, now how to go back to working in the office after making changes in their lives around having permanent work from home positions....all because it was a campaign promise. This goes back to bad employees who will never get fired (and are bad employees even when working in the office), and instead of dealing with that issue, governor is punishing everyone.
