I have been working at Stein Mart part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Friendly coworkers and laid back environment where everyone is working towards the same goals.

Cons

Random floor moves the day before District Manager visits, just to be told to move everything back to where it was before.

I have been working at Stein Mart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay and benefits are competitive, they like to promote from within, and associates get a 25% discount at work.

    Cons

The hours aren't the best, the schedule usually isn't out until 1-2 days before the beginning of the next week making it hard to make plans, and you have to push both the Stein Mart MasterCard and the Stein Mart private label card.

    Advice to Management

When it comes to planning sales, please stop doing last minute add-ons the day before the sale starts. We've been working all week to set the sale and it's frustrating and difficult to have to rescan the entire store the day before the sale starts. Also, don't make us feel bad if we call in sick. We know it leaves the store a bit short handed, but what good are we going to be if we're not working to the best of our abilities and also spreading germs to our fellow associates and customers alike?
