I worked at Stein Mart full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Able to work with some great people at the store level. At one point this was a great place to work back when Jay Stein had more of a say of what happen in the stores. He was always there to make sure that the associates were appreciated but since he has stepped back from knowing what the store associates are going through the company has lost it's family atmosphere and the customers also feel this disappointment as well.

    Cons

No down time. No time for personal life. Unrealistic expectations. Demands for results that there is no control over.

I have been working at Stein Mart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Supervisors and Leads are respectful and will work with you when you come to work like you are ready to work, security takes their job seriously, breakroom is kept clean. Internal job promotions are posted and announced during Sunday morning meetings. "Shoutout Sundays" occur Sunday mornings to recognize high standard performing employees.

    Cons

High turn over rate due to temp agency representative is not always on site for second shift, poor communication of weekly schedule and end of daily shift, mandatory weekend overtime for 2 weeks is taxing. Parking space is limited. 30 min lunch breaks during 10hr shifts feel like nothing
