Pros

There is no best reason to work for Sterling or best reasons for not working for Sterling

no respect, consultants were treated better than the employees. You're only as good as what you did today and the great things done in the past are never remembered or rewarded.

I have been working at SterlingBackcheck full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazing co-workers. The office culture is pretty casual and friendly. Education reimbursement program. Health benefits. Pretty flexible with vacation and time off.

    Cons

There isn't really a lot of opportunity unless you plan to move out of country for a position. Some managers are really not approachable or don't have the managerial skills needed to help employees grow. Lack of communication, a lot of finger pointing and upper management isn't very involved. There are always technology issues which are patched and not fixed.

This company is always growing and it's difficult to assess where it's going. Always in a state of change or being restructured with every acquisition. In the last 5 years it's been constant corporate growing pains. Doesn't look like this will ever stabilize.

    Advice to Management

Take time to get to know your employees. There are a lot of intelligent/talented people here that probably should be given bigger/new challenges. Keep them engaged, make them feel appreciated. Don't miss out on making this company great by letting employees get bored!

    Advice to Management

I have seen this company grow from a hundred employee to thousand employee company and very proud to have worked here. You all are doing a great job and wish you all the best for all your future endeavors. It is very disheartening to see such negative reviews but I hope and believe these do not impact the image that I have of Sterling Backcheck.
