I have been working at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working with the students and other staff members is enjoyable. The work-life balance is actually pretty good here.

    Cons

Pay and benefits are below average, no raises. The executive team overseeing all of the campuses are totally out of touch with marketing, program development, pricing, and utilization of technology. The biggest con of all is Carl Barney, he's the chairman/owner. SHC has a lot of potential but that won't happen as long as Carl Barney is at the helm.

    Advice to Management

Vote Carl Barney off the board, otherwise polish up your resume because that school won't be around in 2-3 years.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Deans and their support staff care about the students and their future

    Cons

Managers play a lot of politics They spent most of their meeting times slamming upper management and the decisions made, often by name. They gave no raises, no yearly reviews. Training was terrible if they ever trained people. Upper management has no real idea how academics work, and they don't care. They promote people who are definitely not qualified

    Advice to Management

Learn about your real product and services. Learn how your decisions affect your customers (students).
