I have been working at Stewart's Shops full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Monthly incentive bonuses and health insurance for full time partners.Steady work with many options to move up in the corporation. Stewart's offers their partners a, "profit sharing" retirement plan in which the corporation pays 15% of employees annual salary into with no employee contribution required. Company also offers vacation time.

Cons

Stewart's offers no, "sick time" and requires a flexible schedule that changes as the company sees fit. You could be working a closing shift one day and have to open the very next. Company says they offer paid breaks, though I've personally never had a sit down lunch. Management is trained by company and is often unprofessional. No call in procedure, once you're scheduled you work whether you're healthy or vomiting!

Advice to Management

Take a good look at who you're promoting to manager status, you'll be unhappily surprised.

    Pros

    Never bored, lots to do, total control. Good bonus structure for managers, growth incentive for partners.

    Cons

    Very long hours.....Not enough payroll....tough to find good employees.....tough work for the money, most want to sit behind a register. Gas Drive offs

    Advice to Management

    Adopt 5 day work week for managers.

    Pros

    There is absolutely no pros for working for this company.

    Cons

    Management corrupt. Loss prevention personnel ineffective. Salary not equal to the amount of work demanded of the employees. When a partner exceeds the goals set for them, they are accused of achieving their goal by lies and tricks. Employees are made to take their breaks behind the counter. Not allowed to sit for meals. Often times not paid for hours worked. If you do not keep good records, good luck getting paid.

    Advice to Management

    Start over with a different management team - that includes the owners.
