    Pros

Free Stuff. The break area is wonderful, inclusive environment, extremely open management team. They have some great products and are fulfilling a wonderful mission. The team has some of the most brilliant minds I have had the pleasure of working with. Previous descriptions of the of misogyny or xenophobia is flat out wrong as there is a C-level immigrant and a C-level female on the executive team. Look on... their website yourself. Also, they take coffee super seriously at StreetShares. Lucky for me I also take coffee seriously. Friday afternoon company lookbacks are awesome with plenty of beer for all. Why isn't more business done that way?

    Cons

Too many chiefs in this tribe with not enough warriors. That can change quickly though. I think there needs to be more flexible work from home options. PTO also needs to be better. Health insurance is a bit high compared to other employers.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you retain talent effectively. If you cannot find employees locally, find remote employees and cover expenses. For the account executive team and all employees, when offered bonuses for performance, give the employees the option to invest some of it back into the company through direct stock or option purchase. If they believe, they will invest.

    Pros

A company where you can forge your own career path. Execs that are fairly flat but always willing to listen and let you educate the organization. Great organization, tight knit. They have some of the right people in the right places. Extremely polished and well educated team members, with a great depth of knowledge. Friday afternoons there is the debrief where leadership goes over the good and bad of the week for... each department. Right now we are in a "GO-GO-GO!!" mode, almost non-stop. There is a heavy veteran employee make up and an extremely pro-America organization. Sometimes the banter is fun and dark humored, which is reflective of the veteran community. That is certainly not for everyone. Heavily discounted outside gym, decent in building gym, good lounge area, and a history of a great culture. Benefits are pretty good for a start-up. Health care is not great, but its good enough. Spot Sponsorship for big physical events like the Army 10k and the Marine Corps Half Marathon.

    Cons

There is some culture pains right now. Several new employees have been hired on the Banking side, new programmers, and across the org. I'm not sure if some will fit, and some are already making an impact. Some are great culture fits. But our culture seems diluted currently. Maybe because we have been all-cylinders-firing for so long now without pause. There hasn't been as much fun in the office as it used to be. ... This needs to change. PTO could also be much, much better. Unlimited PTO would be great as long as things get done.

    Advice to Management

Lets shake up the culture a bit. Maybe do a monthly mandatory Saturday with wives and kids to a park or a pool party for a few hours. July 5th is a Friday and I guess we are technically open. Make it a giant office party that day. Find Someone to be a Chief Culture Officer - no matter what, they have to make sure a candidate will be able to grow our company, while maintaining our culture. Also, if we believe in... the organization and our mission, give us the ability to buy more equity.

    Pros

You are surrounded but some very intelligent people who for the most part are also good people. The environment is laid back but that doesn't mean you don't have to work your butt off. Opportunities to learn and grow are there but not all are so obvious. Overall, StreetShares is a solid place to work with a core of values that I am happy to be apart of.

    Cons

Could use better communication skills, as the chain of command seems only to consist of Executives. (That being said, it looks like we are moving in a better direction with this). One executive seems to be killing moral without any other higher ups knowing. His solution to everything is to higher a temp, his man goal in life is to make sure his numbers look huge even if it means pulling data that is the least... optimal. When confronted directly about anything in front of people, he will NEVER give you an answer, he states "we should go off line for this" and then when you meet one on one his answer his BS. If you could not tell, this man is the main con of this company from my current perspective.

    Advice to Management

Address the individual that is killing moral (you know who he is, we don't have walls, if you haven't heard something, then you aren't listening).
