Pros

Bethesda location and DC proximity

Cons

Do you own a Porsche? Is the toughest decision of your average weekend Potterybarn or Restoration Hardware? Is your favorite beverage LaCroix? Then I have the company for you! Streetsense is a marketing and leasing firm FIRST and foremost. Streetsense cares more about its image, culture committees, and hosting weekly fireside chats on the modern millennial than generating a career for its employees. Architects, interior designers, environmental graphics, and planners alike are nothing but work mules. The place studio rips through employees like napkins and the vertical career growth is non-existent. But if you can write an email that makes it look like your leadership material, the job is yours! But be prepared, you’ll have to share your job with 10 other people pretending to be leadership and make twice your salary. Only thing the directors can manage is managing to get in your way incessantly. Project directors spend all day harassing the work force with scheduling, conference room dos and donts, CAD standards you’re not following correctly and handle all communications with clients eliminating any chance of relationship building with your employers. This company is so utterly confused on how to manage and lead and yet they continue to hire leadership level employees right over top of the employees they should be promoting to fill those positions. If streetsense does anything right, it’s a how-to on disincentivizing employees into wanting to care about this once great company.
