I worked at Stryker full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Very rewarding work, majority of employees have a tremendous work ethic and always give 100% of their effort. Were able to perform your job with minimum supervision. Salary was excellent once you were established there, benefits package was top notch.

Cons

You could always feel the tension in the atmosphere there. Most employees were always on edge worrying about the steady stream of mini-layoffs. A fair majority of the supervision always had an unrealistic sense of project timelines and never seemed to be content with the project's progress.

    I worked at Stryker full-time

    Pros

Strengths based hiring process. Most all employees are contributors. Fun, driven culture. The people are great. Employees are given a good deal of responsibility.

    Cons

Younger, less experienced management. Not a great amount of opportunity for advancement unless you are willing to move. Very tight with funding, very little investment in training for career advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Take some risks

I worked at Stryker full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent company w/ stable history. They have great benefits and provided everything I needed to do my job. Starting pay was around $17.00 per hour... which wouldn't have been very good except I came in right when they were needing a BUNCH of overtime. They did pay you from the time you left home until you got home... but that made it difficult to get all the work done when they cut you to 40 hours a week.

    Cons

Political! If you didn't know someone or kiss the right butt, you weren't getting your own territory or advancement. Left the house at 6 am and wasn't usually home until 5 or 6 at night...

    Advice to Management

Either you are going to give people the opportunity or you aren't. Decide and go with that.
